Just a little reminder as I’ve had a large number of messages recently from people wanting to return to The Tish Touch. 🐾Last December, I let everyone know that I was changing the way I operate and moving to a maximum 12-week grooming schedule. That policy is still very much in place. At this stage, I am fully booked, and I am only able to accommodate my regular clients who maintain their appointments within the 12-week maximum.I completely understand that some people have been to me many times in the past and consider themselves existing clients. However, if regular appointments haven’t been maintained within my current booking policy, I unfortunately can’t guarantee that a space will still be available when you decide to return. When appointments became available, I offered those spaces where I could. If they weren’t taken, I then needed to offer them to somebody else. With the salon now at capacity, I simply don’t have enough appointments available to accommodate everyone who would like to come back. Please understand that this isn’t personal, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who has supported my business over the years. I have simply reached the point where I have to be consistent with the policies I have put in place. The 12-week maximum has made a huge difference to the salon. The dogs are happier being groomed regularly, their coats are easier to maintain, appointments are more predictable, and it has also allowed me to manage my workload in a much healthier and more sustainable way.So, just as a friendly reminder:🐾 Maximum 12 weeks between grooms🐾 Regular clients only🐾 Please rebook when you pick up🐾 Appointments can not be held indefinitely if regular bookings aren’t maintained🐾 I am currently unable to accept new or returning irregular clientsI know I have probably been a little too flexible with appointments in the past, but in order for me to continue doing the job I love, I need to stick to the boundaries I’ve put in place.Thank you so much for understanding and for supporting The Tish Touch. ❤️🐾Tish
… See MoreSee Less

🐾 A Little Housekeeping at The Tish Touch 🐾Just a friendly reminder that my 12-week maximum between appointments is still firmly in place.I am now fully booked for the remainder of the year, and January is already filling quickly. I’m no longer able to accept new clients, so all available appointments are reserved for my regular customers. Please make sure you rebook when collecting your dog. If you choose not to rebook at pickup, I’ll assume you no longer require a regular appointment and your place may be offered to somebody else.Since introducing this policy, I’ve noticed such a wonderful difference in the dogs I groom. Because they’re coming regularly, grooming has become part of their normal routine rather than something that feels like torture. They’re happier, more comfortable and much easier to work with—and when the dogs are happier, I’m happier too! ❤️Unfortunately, I’ve had to say goodbye to some previous clients who haven’t kept within the 12-week maximum. With such limited availability, I simply cannot guarantee another appointment once that timeframe has passed. This system is working beautifully for the dogs, for me and for the salon, so this is how The Tish Touch will continue going forward.Thank you so much for understanding and for continuing to support my little business. ❤️🐾TishThe Tish Touch Professional Pet Styling
… See MoreSee Less

 "The

I’m not the groomer who can always fit you in “today or tomorrow”… and honestly, I’m proud of that. ❤️🐾For years, I overbooked myself. I said yes to everyone who needed me because I genuinely wanted to help. But eventually, I realised that constantly trying to squeeze in “just one more dog” was taking pieces of me that I couldn’t keep giving away. The dogs were rushed. My mind was exhausted. My body was tired. My personal life was pushed aside. And my health suffered.Grooming is a physically and emotionally demanding career, and burnout is incredibly real. Sometimes, we convince ourselves that working more means we’re a better groomer or that saying “no” means we aren’t doing enough. It doesn’t.I’ve had to learn that 7–8 hours of intentional, focused work is enough. I don’t have to work myself into the ground to be a good groomer. I don’t have to sacrifice my family, my own appointments, my health, or my sanity to prove how much I care. And you know what happened when I started setting those boundaries? My clients stayed. ❤️They rebook. They book ahead. They understand that my schedule fills because I have wonderful clients who value what I do and because I intentionally schedule my business around my life instead of trying to make my entire life revolve around my business. That balance is important.Because when a groomer takes care of themselves, they can take better care of your dog.Your dog deserves a groomer who isn’t exhausted, overwhelmed, rushing through appointments, or running on empty. They deserve someone who has the time, patience, focus, and energy to give them the care they need.So please understand that when I can’t fit your dog in today or tomorrow, it isn’t because I don’t care. It’s because I’m protecting the quality of care I provide.I may not always be the fastest appointment to get, but I promise you I’m worth the wait. 🐶❤️And when I can fit you in, I absolutely will.To my fellow groomers: setting boundaries isn’t selfish. It’s how we build careers we can actually sustain. And to my clients: thank you for understanding, respecting my schedule, and trusting me with your dogs. You are the reason I’m able to do what I love while still taking care of the person behind the grooming table. ❤️🐾 #TheTishTouch #doggroomer #doglovers #dogmum #careeradvice #groomerswhocare #groomer #dogs #dogcare #selfcare
… See MoreSee Less
